Grooming your Cat - Here are the reasons why you should!

As a cat owner you'll already know that cats are very clean animals, they spend their days sleeping, grooming and eating in that order. They even try to groom us with their rough tongue, maybe they think we don't shower enough!

Do do we need to give them a helping hand to groom themselves? You're cats not going to die from lack of human grooming, but it could make them very ill. They live full lives out in the wild without being groomed by a human but they do benefit from being groomed and you benefit from this activity too.

First of all grooming your cat should provide you with plenty of quality time with your cat. If they are anything like mine they'll loved being showered with affection, but of course only when they're in the mood for it. So with the social benefits of grooming out of the way, lets take a look at the health benefit for your cat.

One of the most immediate benefits is that it helps minimise the amounts of fur balls your cat has to deal with. If you've been near your cat when they've tried to cough up a fur ball you can see how distressing it is for them. You can help remove that excess fur by brushing your cat, that way you won't have to watch your much loved feline in distress.

By grooming your cat regularly you'll promote healthier skin and a shiny coat. Imagine if you'd not been able to have a shower or bath for weeks and all you get to do is wash your self down in the sink. I bet you'd be desperate for a proper clean. They're would have been areas you wouldn't have been able to clean since you just cant reach. It's just the same for a cat, by grooming them we can help them clean those hard to reach places.

There also a benefit to your home as well. If you're helping your cat groom themselves then there's less fur to be left around the house, which should result in less cleaning. A couple of minutes grooming your cat could save to the hour it takes you to vacuum their hair from the sofa and you wouldn't have to pick up the little piles of fur from the corners of your home.

There's probably a health benefit for you too. They've shown that stroking animals is good for your blood pressure so I'm assuming the relaxed methodical method of grooming will have the same health benefits for you.

Basic Dog Training Commands: Tips Every Dog-Owner Should Teach

Dog is not only a simple animal .He can be your good friend, your defender  and your partner .Similarly you are his teacher .As we all know that Dog is the most faithful animal among all animal kingdom .Proper training should be given to each and every dog by his owner .Once he recognize you as his leader ,than he will follow each and every command given by you to him .By following few Dog Training Commands ,we can convert over dog from simple animal to a well behaved dog .Every owner should make his dog comfortable with these basic Dog training Commands .

Being a dog lover, I observe dogs very closely .I have noticed one thing that mostly dog will get bored if you are teaching them in long sessions .If you try to teach them continuously for around 20-25 minutes, they will get bored and start neglecting your command .So always go for 5-7 minute short sessions to teach him few basic Dog Training Commands .Try to repeat these sessions again and again on same day.

Here we will discuss few basic Dog Training Commands.”Sit” is the most basic command every dog should know .Mostly dogs learn this command very easily and it will make your dog sit at very point when you use this command, “Leash Training “is another important command for all dogs and puppies .Don’t ever try to be harsh with your dog by pulling and dragging him .Let him leash properly and walk with you .Give them proper time to learn this command .Don’t try to scare them or scold them during this training.”Heel “ is another basic Dog Training Command .Dog always feel comfortable while walking beside you .If he start walking in front of you ,you can bring him beside you by using word “Heel “.Don’t pull your puppy if he’s walking forward .Teach this command properly to get good communication with your dog .”Stay” is another important command for safety of your dog .This command will make your dog sit at that position where he is .This command is very important and take few time to get learned by your dog .Another command “come” will make your dog start walking with you if he is in stay position .This is also very good and important command

All the above mention Dog Training Commands are very helpful and must for each and every dog .Don’t take too long sessions and try to make him learn in short sessions. Don’t forget to praise your dog regularly as it will make him feel comfortable with you .Don’t ever give up .Keep one thing in mind that dogs are not human beings .They take some time to learn everything .Be cool, calm and consistent with them .Take proper care of his food when he is in initial stage .Try to make him fearless and well mannered. Try to play few games with him while training session .Love you dog and in return he will give lots of love and respect to you.

There is a lot of controversy these days over rare and exotic pets, and included in that controversy is question of whether or not you should keep rare tropical fish. Some may argue that rare animals of any variety should not be taken from their natural habitat so that they can breed and be as healthy as possible, while others argue that keeping any animal in captivity can actually be safer than letting it loose in the wild. And since keeping rare tropical fish means that they won't be in the ocean near predators and other harmful elements, and they'll be kept in a closed and controlled environment, is there really any harm to this? Let's take a look at some of the pros and cons of keeping rare tropical fish and then of course you can make up your own mind regarding this subject.

The first thing to consider about rare tropical fish is where they've come from. Obviously if you're buying them from a private seller you want to make sure that he or she is obtaining these fish legally. Some people are not against smuggling exotic pets out of countries without proper paperwork. On the other hand some breeders of rare tropical fish are licensed to breed them on their own and may have their own fish farms and aquariums where they raise them. It's up to you to find these things out for sure.

You also need to keep in mind the expense and care that may be needed with some breeds of rare tropical fish, which might need more exacting water conditions and may have special dietary needs. Many fish are very sturdy and can withstand changes in their tank water whereas some rare tropical fish are more delicate and need constant checking when it comes to the water's pH, chemical, bacteria, and so on. If you want your fish to live you're going to need to be sure you're taking care of it properly. You also need to be aware of their dietary needs, as some cannot do so well with plain flake fish food. They may need special live feed or may also need supplements added to their diet. These things can be costly, so do your research and comparison shopping beforehand and make sure you can fit these things into your budget. And of course there is the cost of the rare tropical fish itself! Some can run hundreds and even thousands of dollars, and yet you should also keep in mind their life spans. How do you feel about spending that much money on a fish that lives only a few years, if even that? Weigh this carefully and be sure you can afford this type of temporary investment.

Only you can decide if any rare tropical fish are right for you and your aquarium. Keep in mind if you're doing the right thing for the fish as well, and in the end you're sure to make the right decision.

I just ask a question on what food dogs can't eat and there was a long list, practically almost everything.

My dogs eat the Ol' Roy dry dog food from those big bags, and it seems fine. But when this bag is all used up, is it okay to buy the same thing?

First of all. I am an animal and dog lover. The shelters are overpopulated by large unwanted dogs millions of which are euthanized everry year. Most shelters will have very few if any small dogs and most have a long adoption waiting list for small dogs.
Large dogs have two or three times the number of pups per birth than small dogs do.
So there is clearly a very serious problem with large dog overpopulation.
In addition, large stray dogs acan be a serious danger resulting in thousands of serious hospitalized dog maulings every year.
So should all large dogs be required to be fixed by one year old unless it belongs to a licensed dog breeder?
Again SMALL DOGS are not the problem. In fact there is a shortage of them judging by the shelters long waiting lists for adoption so that is obviously a waste of time and resources. It is the large dogs who have 10-12 pups per litter vs small dogs 3-4 pups per litter.
