automatic fish feeders?

Going to be spending alot of time at work. Any suggestions for a good fish feeder?

Automatic feeders are only a temporary solution, don't just get it going & neglect to check frequently as it can cause a disaster if it malfunctions eg. dumping a whole lot more food than intended.

Before buying one, examine it physically to understand the mechanics & assess whether it can fit your requirements. You should have absolute flexibility to determine when & how much to feed. See whether the size of the opening can accommodate the type of fish food you use.

Before actually using it for real, you must do a trial run to observe how it works & to fine-tune the amount of food it releases. It's strongly recommended to feed a smaller amount than what you feed manually, especially important if you're not able to check the tank frequently eg. when on holiday.

Although auto feeders are definitely better than those weekend/holiday blocks of fish food, they can still fail and thus do not expect consistency in its performance. Actually for up to a week, most fish will be fine without food and in fact it helps to detox their systems.
